As the world opens back up and people begin spending more time outside of their homes, Hydrow was interested in driving awareness to both the brand and their partnership with Water.org in a new differentiated way.
Hydrow partnered with local Austin artist Helena Martin to create a custom QR Code activated mural in the heart of downtown Austin–painted alongside the iconic storefront of Allen’s Boots. The mural not only represents their promise to “Bring The Outside In,” but captures the important role that water plays in connecting each and every one of us.
More than just a beautiful backdrop to pose with, the mural also offers an exciting way to interact and get involved with Hydrow and its philanthropic partner, Water.org. Using the camera on their smartphones, users can scan the QR code at the bottom of the mural to trigger a donation to Water.org that will grant long-term access to safe water and sanitation for individuals facing water scarcity. Additionally, each donation enters participants into a drawing for a custom pair of Allen’s Boots!
Based in Austin, TX, artist Helena Martin’s vibrant murals can be seen throughout the U.S. and abroad. Portraiture, flora, fauna, and clever use of color are some of the signatures of her style. She creates works for clients worldwide, as well as, teaching urban art workshops for children and adults alike.
Hydrow has partnered with Water.org, an international organization dedicated to solving the global water crisis. In keeping with their core themes of community and connectedness, it was important for Hydrow to ensure that their entire community had the opportunity to contribute to the cause. For every 60 days rowed, Hydrow donates to Water.org, helping the organization continue their mission of bringing water and sanitation to the developing world.
